According to Decrypt, Venezuelan regulators are conducting an anti-corruption investigation of Joselit Ramirez, the former director of the Supervision of Crypto Assets and Related Activities (Sunacrip), amid rumors that the government has ordered the closure of all cryptocurrency exchanges registered with Sunacrip. Since then, Eleazar Colmenares, CEO of Venezuelan company Cryptobuyer, has denied rumors that Sunacrip ordered the closure of all cryptocurrency trading platforms in the country, saying that due to the supervisory transition of the supervisory authority Sunacrip, the encrypted fiat currency gateway service is temporarily unable to operate. Sunacrip did not order any Venezuelan exchanges to cease operations. So far, Sunacrip has not issued an official statement to clarify.
