According to CoinDesk, a group of protocols based on the Solana blockchain announced the joint launch of the cross-chain messaging organization "Open Chat Alliance", which aims to promote the simplification of encrypted communication through open source standards. The Open Chat Alliance is backed by 19 Solana projects, including messaging platform Notifi Network, Solana Name Service (SNS) provider Bonfida, and NFT-powered social media platform Only1, among others. The group said it will form a communication standard that projects on different chains can use despite technical differences between blockchains. For example, an interoperable standard would theoretically allow a Solana user to easily send a message to a user on Ethereum, for example.
