The Bank of England is seeking to build a team of up to 30 people, including a digital pound security architect and a digital pound solutions architect, to develop a central bank digital currency (CBDC), CoinDesk reported. The Bank of England and the Treasury said in February that they were starting further research and development of a digital version of the pound and invited public comment on the plan, which has yet to make a decision on whether the digital pound will use distributed ledger technology.
