Rollup platform Caldera announced the upcoming introduction of Stateful Precompiles, providing developers with a new interface to customize and add functionality to their Caldera chains, adding functionality to their EVM instances without writing Solidity. Stateful precompilation builds on standard stateless precompilation in the EVM, enabling broader functionality and customizability. Caldera said use cases for state precompilation include enabling contract secured revenue, minting native coins for EVM instances, deploying smart contracts with higher performance and lower costs, restricting whitelisted deployment of smart contracts, and more. Foresight News previously reported that in February 2023, Caldera announced that it had completed two rounds of financing of US$9 million, led by traditional financial giant Sequoia Capital and crypto-native company Dragonfly, with participation from Neo, 1kx and Ethereal Ventures. At the end of March, Caldera announced the launch of two public testnets (EVM compatible) on Ethereum Goerli and Polygon, allowing developers to deploy smart contracts and connect through common tools such as Ethers.js and Thirdweb. Ordinary users can add testnets to their wallets. Interact with deployed contracts.
