Wife of Arrested Tornado Cash Developer Alexey Pertsev Denies Husband Has Ties to Russian Secret Service

Xenia Malik, the wife of arrested Tornado Cash developer Alexey Pertsev, has denied that her husband has ties to the Russian secret service, CoinDesk reported. Alexey Pertsev was previously employed by a company linked to Russia's security agency, the FSB, according to a report by intelligence firm Kharon. Sources reviewed by CoinDesk appear to confirm that Pertsev previously worked for a company called Digital Security, which provides services such as penetration testing, a type of security audit that checks how strong a system’s cyber defenses are. The company, also known as DSec, was sanctioned in November 2018 by OFAC, which said it had ties to Russian spies, Kharon said.
