Commodity malware RedLine is one of the long-standing financial threats tasked with harvesting information including cryptocurrency and banking information.
SmokeLoader, RaccoonStealer (also known as RecordBreaker) and Vidar topped the list of the most popular malware families for BlackBerry. SmokeLoader, one of the oldest rogue financial tools in 2011, was primarily used by Russian threat actors to load cryptocurrency miners and other malware. RaccoonStealer has been used to steal cryptocurrency wallet data and is reportedly being sold on the dark web. Vidar is also widely used to collect cryptocurrency wallets.
Of all operating systems, Linux is the biggest target, and BlackBerry recommends applying security patches regularly. Hackers target Linux, hijacking and using computer resources to mine cryptocurrencies. (Cointelegraph)
