Senator Cynthia Lummis urges court to dismiss SEC lawsuit against Coinbase

Odaily Planet Daily News US Senator Cynthia Lummis and some cryptocurrency lobby groups called on the federal court to dismiss the US SEC's lawsuit against Coinbase. In amicus briefs, the groups and lawmakers accused the SEC of attempting to overstep its authority in launching the lawsuit against Coinbase, echoing arguments made by Coinbase itself in a motion to dismiss the case. Collectively, these include the Blockchain Association, Crypto Council for Innovation, Chamber of Digital Commerce, DeFi Education Fund, Chamber of Progress ), lobbying groups including the Consumer Technology Association, venture capital firms such as a16z crypto and Paradigm, and six academics submitted a total of six briefs (not including Cynthia Lummis’ brief).
