Odaily Planet Daily News Recently, due to false reports about the death of Internet celebrity and 14-year-old rapper Lil Tay, an unofficial encrypted token named "LilTay" appeared on the BNB Chain. The launch of the token coincides with the development of the Ethereum-based “Liltay Token” by its former manager, Harry Tsang.
The BNB Chain version of the unofficial LilTay token has a limited supply of just over 100 tokens and has not yet been traded.
While there has been mixed speculation surrounding the team behind the coin, some believe that speculative cryptocurrency enthusiasts may have tried to capitalize on the media hype surrounding the alleged death or pay tribute to the young internet celebrity.
Meanwhile, Tsang claimed that the upcoming Ethereum token has nothing to do with the BNB Chain version. It is unclear whether Lil Tay himself is involved in the Ethereum token project. However, the project's Twitter account had been sharing development updates for months before the suspended animation scandal.
Last week, Lil Tay (real name Tay Tien) posted a now-deleted post on her official Instagram account claiming she died along with her brother. She then issued a statement to TMZ clarifying that she and her brother are alive and well, and attributed the misinformation to a third-party hack into her Instagram account. (Cryptonews)
