Crypto Miner Coinmint Sues Two Chipmakers for At Least $23M in Damages

According to CoinDesk, Coinmint, a New York encryption mining company, accused Bitcoin technology company Katena Computing and semiconductor design company DX Corr of luring it into a $150 million bitcoin mining machine purchase agreement, and the lawsuit demanded more than $23 million in damages. Following this agreement, Katena cannot and does not intend to deliver. According to the scheme, Katena “improperly influenced, bribed, or motivated co-conspirators” to purchase $150 million in bitcoin mining machines, Coinmint said. The suit charges DX Corr, its executives, and former Coinmint employees with fraud, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, and aiding and abetting. Coinmint seeks actual, compensatory and consequential damages, including but not limited to $23 million.
