British venture capital firm Illuminate Financial has raised $235 million for its third fund, according to Bloomberg, with investors including Bank of New York Mellon and Euroclear, and existing firms including JPMorgan Chase, Barclays and Jefferies Financial Group. Illuminate strategic investors have also put money into the new fund. The fund will invest in startups that provide technology services to financial institutions. Illuminate, founded nine years ago by TP ICAP Group Plc and former Deutsche Bank executive Mark Beeston, also operates in New York and Singapore, and has backed 35 companies, including digital asset market infrastructure firm Copper, Blockdaemon, Baton Systems and others.
