Solana Status: Exploit root cause unknown, malicious actors have stolen funds from around 7767 Solana wallets

Solana Status tweeted that a vulnerability allowed malicious actors to steal funds from multiple Solana wallets. As of 5:00AM UTC, approximately 7,767 wallets were affected. The exploit affected multiple wallets, including Slope and Phantom, as well as mobile wallets and plugin wallets. Engineers are currently working with multiple security researchers and ecosystem teams to determine the root cause of the exploit, which is currently unknown. There is no evidence that hardware wallets are affected, users are strongly advised to use hardware wallets, and do not reuse the mnemonic phrase on the hardware wallet, create a new mnemonic phrase. Stolen wallets should be considered damaged and discarded.
