Odaily Planet Daily News MotherDuck, a startup that commercializes the lightweight database platform DuckDB, announced the completion of a $52.5 million Series B round of financing. Felicis led the investment, a16z, Madrona, Amplify Partners, Altimeter, Redpoint and Zero Prime participated. MotherDuck’s total funding reaches $100 million.
MotherDuck CEO Jordan Tigani said that MotherDuck’s post-money valuation is US$400 million, and the funds from this round of financing will be used to expand MotherDuck’s engineering and go-to-market strategy teams. Tigani expects MotherDuck's headcount to increase from 32 currently to 45 by the end of this year. (Techcrunch)
