Odaily Planet Daily News The Polish Office for Personal Data Protection (Office for Personal Data Protection) launched an investigation into complaints against OpenAI’s ChatGPT. An unnamed applicant accused the company of processing data in an “illegal and unreliable manner.”
In a statement on September 20, Jan Nowak, chairman of the Data Protection Office, said that this is not the first time that people have questioned whether ChatGPT complies with European data protection and privacy principles.
The complaint alleges that OpenAI processed data in an illegal and unreliable manner and was not transparent about its rules for collecting and processing data. The applicant stated that, in relation to its personal situation, ChatGPT generated false information about it and that OpenAI did not comply with the requirements set forth by the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
