Odaily Planet Daily News U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler will testify at a hearing on the SEC’s supervision issues held by the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Committee at 22:00 on September 27.
According to the Committee Memorandum, this hearing will examine the SEC’s regulatory developments, rulemakings and activities during the period beginning on October 5, 2021, including:
-On March 24, 2022, SEC staff issued Staff Accounting Notice No. 121, requiring reporting entities that engage in digital asset custody activities to record liabilities for corresponding assets;
-On March 18, 2022, the SEC proposed to modify the definition of "trading platform" and expand the SEC's authority over digital asset trading platforms, etc.
