Elliptic, a blockchain analysis and encryption compliance solution, released a research report on "Cryptocurrency and Global Fentanyl Trading", which pointed out that there are 100 Chinese suppliers who accept cryptocurrency payment to sell fentanyl precursor chemicals, tablet presses and molds; of which nearly 20 are willing to supply fentanyl, and one of them is proved to have supplied fentanyl to Alex Peijnenburg, a known fentanyl dealer who has been arrested by foreign assets in the United States. The Office of Control (OFAC) sanctioned; the wallets of these traders showed that their encrypted asset income exceeded 32 million US dollars, mainly Bitcoin and Tether (USDT), most of which came from centralized exchanges; on-chain transactions showed that a considerable number of traders were involved in trading fentanyl through the darknet market, of which 500,000 US dollars of illegal funds came from the darknet market.
