Odaily Planet Daily News According to a legal document, lawyers for FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) want to ask FTX co-founder Gary Wang whether he relied on legal advice when agreeing to a series of loans associated with hedge fund Alameda Research. Prosecutors have investigated Gary Wang's estimated $200 million to $300 million in loans from Alameda Research, which he used to make venture capital investments and buy himself a home in the Bahamas.
The SBF argued the lawyer's involvement showed he was unaware the company's loans were improper and asked Judge Lewis Kaplan for permission to question Wang on the issue.
Gary Wang is expected to complete his testimony later on Tuesday, followed by Caroline Ellison, the former head of Alameda Research and SBF's ex-girlfriend. Gary Wang and Caroline Ellison have both pleaded guilty and are cooperating with investigators. (CoinDesk)
