Norges Bank is building a CBDC sandbox on Ethereum, has developed an infrastructure prototype

Norges Bank (the country’s central bank) is building a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) sandbox on Ethereum and has developed a prototype infrastructure based on Ethereum technology. In May of this year, Nahmii, an Ethereum scaling solution, announced that it had been selected through a competitive tender to work with the Norges Bank on Norway’s upcoming experimental CBDC sandbox project. Nahmii will build a sandbox environment for Norges Bank, which will use the platform as part of a wider test of the CBDC.
