21.co analyst Tom Wan posted on the X platform that the Polygon POL contract address has been launched, and the current maximum total supply is 10,000,028,681 pieces. 0x29e7DF7b6A1B2b07b731457f499E1696c60E2C4e seems to be a migration contract. Its function is to migrate MATIC to POL. 10 million MATIC have been migrated. The unmigration feature is not locked yet, so users can currently unmigrate POL back to MATIC. However, Polygon’s official announcement did not mention migration-related matters.

According to previous news, Polygon announced on the X platform that the Polygon native token POL contract has been deployed to the Ethereum mainnet. Polygon further stated that POL is a next-generation token that can power a massive ecosystem of ZK-based L2 chains. It does this through a native heavy-staking protocol that allows POL holders to multi-chain verify and perform multiple roles on each chain, turning POL into an efficient token.
