Klaytn issued a document stating that it will build a real world asset (RWA) tokenization support system, covering product development, token issuance, asset storage and trading. Klaytn will establish a new token standard containing the functionality required for asset tokenization. Klaytn will also strengthen important ecosystem elements such as custody, KYC, oracles and trading platforms, and work with business and legal advisory experts to ensure compliance requirements are met.
The Klaytn Foundation will develop a series of RWA applications now and in the future, with the current focus on gold tokenization and real estate tokenization. Creder, a subsidiary of Korea Gold Exchange, will tokenize physical gold into GPC and conduct on-chain transactions on Klaytn. GPC will be launched on DEX, and users around the world can purchase and use GPC to earn income in DeFi protocols. Lending protocol ELYSIA will offer a variety of RWA-based synthetic products, including real estate mortgage bonds, e-commerce receivables and real estate project financing.
