Ava Labs will discontinue the block explorer running Etherscan on November 30 and replace it with a new product called Routescan. Users will be required to back up the information they contain in the block explorer, including addresses, private name tags and private transaction notes, before the deactivation date.
Luigi D'Onorio, head of DeFi and developer relations at Ava Labs, said Snowtrace will continue to exist as a domain, but the Etherscan deployment will be deprecated and replaced by new products launched by the Avascan team.
Austin Blackerby, analytics manager at Flipside Crypto, noted that extracting data from the subnet is quite costly for external vendors such as Etherscan. It would be more cost-effective for Ava Labs to bring these resources in-house. (Blockworks)
