The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) said it has arrested a politician, Ambassador Wilfred Bonse, for allegedly stealing over $246,153 (N200 million) from Patricia Technologies’ crypto wallet.
The Director of Police Public Relations, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday. Bonse reportedly assisted hackers in laundering $61,538 (50 million naira) from stolen funds.
An NPF spokesperson said in a statement that Ambassador Wilfred Bonse was arrested for theft, conversion of cryptocurrency wallets and unauthorized transfer of funds from Patricia Technologies Limited. (Cointelegraph)
