According to Foresight News, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has released updated information on new licensees and registered institutions for November. The data reveals that C Capital Investment Management Limited, a fund owned by Hong Kong real estate tycoon Cheng Chi-Kong, has obtained the SFC's Type 4 and Type 9 licenses. The Type 4 license is for providing advice on securities, while the Type 9 license is for asset management.
In August 2022, Cheng Chi-Kong disclosed that he held 101 Azuki series NFTs. In September 2022, Bloomberg reported that C Capital planned to raise $500 million in the next 18 months for investing in blockchain assets, credit, and private equity, betting on private companies and digital assets. C Capital co-founder Ben Cheng has previously stated that the hedge fund's strategy mainly focuses on crypto trading.
