INX, a security token and digital asset trading platform, said that on December 20, the computer system of a third-party provider that provides services to its subsidiaries was attacked by a cyberattack. The attackers managed to gain access to the third-party vendor's servers and perform unauthorized transactions, causing the subsidiary to lose approximately $1.6 million in funds.
INX said it took immediate action to fix the security vulnerability and investigate the nature and scope of the incident. It also notified relevant law enforcement authorities in the appropriate jurisdictions and is working with affected trading venues to investigate the incident and take appropriate legal action.
INX's customers were not affected by this incident, and the security breach by the third-party provider did not have any impact on INX's platform and servers. No personal information or other data of INX customers was leaked, and INX.One remains fully operational. . (PR Newswire)
