Users of Iranian cryptocurrency exchange Bit24.cash suffered a major data breach involving nearly 230,000 users, according to a team of researchers at Cybernews. However, the exchange dismissed the accusation, saying the news was untrue.
Researchers said the data breach, which included consent forms, passport information and credit card details, was caused by a misconfiguration of the storage system used by the exchange. The storage is now secure and cannot be accessed.
According to analysis by TRM Labs, Bit24.cash is one of the top five cryptocurrency exchanges in Iran. (Cryptonews)
