Arthur Hayes predicts Bitcoin price will fall below $40,000 mark

BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes posted on the X platform that he is pessimistic about the future price trend of Bitcoin and believes that its price will fall below the $40,000 mark. To this end, he bought a put option expiring on March 29 with an exercise price of $35,000. Hayes also speculated that the decline in Bitcoin prices may continue until the U.S. Treasury Department’s quarterly refinancing announcement on January 31. Earlier news, Arthur Hayes expressed his views on the divergence of Bitcoin and S&P 500 Index (SPX) on the X platform. He pointed out that since the launch of the Bitcoin spot ETF in the United States, the trends of the two have no longer risen simultaneously. Hayes said that Bitcoin’s downward trend may indicate that liquidity will face problems in the future.
