A vulnerability in Ethereum's Nethermind client software last week caused the validator to be offline for four hours, sparking concerns in the Ethereum community about client centralization. At that time, approximately 84% of Ethereum validators were powered by Geth, and as of today approximately 78% of validators use Geth, meaning that in just one week, approximately 6% of node operators changed their execution clients.
In addition, Coinbase Cloud said it is looking at alternative options for other client execution layers and is expected to provide more details in February. (Blockworks)
