According to CoinDesk, minting of Microcosms, a non-fungible token (NFT) that rewards holders with tickets to Consensus for three years and other perks, has reopened. The minting began on Wednesday, January 31, at 1 p.m. ET (18:00 UTC) at the price of 1 ETH and will remain open until Thursday, March 14, at 1 p.m. ET or until the collection sells out, whichever comes first.
Microcosms are NFTs tied to 1,000 unique works of digital art created by generative artist and engineer Fahad Karim. Each Microcosm holder receives a companion Pro Pass to Consensus airdropped to their wallet for the next three years, with a minimum value of $3,600. The NFT and the ticket are both on-chain assets that the holder owns and can use, gift, or sell. To receive the benefits, the holder must continue to hold the NFT in their wallet each year. The reward system resets each year until 2026 and is powered by the Art Blocks Engine, with back-end reward systems managed in partnership with Passage Protocol and redemption and token-gated aspects managed by Tokenproof.
Rewards will be airdropped to holders at random, with eligible rewards including a 15-minute stage session, media buys on coindesk.com, Piranha passes, gift cards to local Austin hot spots, bonus tickets to Consensus 2024, and exclusive merchandise. NFT ticketing allows holders to receive a collectible and enables brands to identify and reward their most loyal customer base. As loyalty programs become more personalized, blockchain technology offers brands a clearer picture of their customers, both online and at in-person events like Consensus.
