According to CoinDesk, Metaco CEO Adrien Treccani and Chief Product Officer Peter DeMeo have left the cryptocurrency custody firm following its acquisition by Ripple in May 2023. A Ripple spokesperson expressed appreciation for the strong custody business built by Treccani and his team, as well as their leadership in integrating the custody team and solution with Ripple after the acquisition. The spokesperson emphasized that custody remains integral to Ripple's growing business as they continue to provide best-in-class enterprise crypto solutions for customers worldwide.
Prior to the acquisition, Metaco had become a popular partner for European banks seeking assistance with digital asset custody. Most recently, the company signed up HSBC, although there were reports that banks were re-evaluating their relationship with Metaco following the acquisition. The news was edited by Nick Baker.
