According to CoinDesk, Bitcoin technology and financial services company River Financial launched the payment gateway River Lightning Services (RLS), hoping to help developers use Taro, developed by Lightning Labs, the lightning network development team, to bring stablecoins and other assets to the Bitcoin network. River Lightning Services is designed to make it easier for companies to access new multi-asset capabilities, and developers can use application programming interfaces (APIs) to integrate Lightning payments into applications without running any Lightning infrastructure. Taro is powered by Taproot and launched in April this year, allowing Bitcoin users to issue assets such as stablecoins on the Bitcoin blockchain, and these assets can be transferred through the Lightning Network. At the end of September this year, Lightning Labs released a beta version of Taro, allowing assets to be created, sent and received on Bitcoin.
