Coinbase protocol head: Base will be upgraded to utilize Blobs at 8:00 on March 14

Coinbase protocol leader Jesse Pollak (jesse.xyz) posted on the X platform that Blob has been launched on Ethereum. Base will be upgraded to take advantage of Blobs at 8:00:01 Beijing time on March 14th. It also stated that over the course of two years, the Base team worked with Ethereum core developers and others to promote the implementation of this technology. Earlier today, Beaconscan data showed that the time slot height (Slot) of the Ethereum beacon chain (Beacon) has reached 8626176, which is also the scheduled position for the Dencun upgrade, and the upgrade has officially started. The Dencun upgrade includes a total of nine Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), the core of which is EIP-4844. This upgrade aims to introduce a new transaction type "Blob transaction" to Ethereum, through the Ethereum main network. An additional temporary data space Blob is added to the block, which is specifically used to process Layer 2 related transactions, thereby significantly reducing the transaction fee cost of Layer 2.
