According to a lawsuit, Facebook parent company Meta allegedly allowed streaming giant Netflix to view its users' private messages for "nearly a decade" to help Netflix better customize content for its users.
Court documents unsealed on March 23 reveal details of a major antitrust lawsuit launched against Meta last April. The class action lawsuit, filed by US citizens Maximilian Klein and Sarah Grabert, accuses Netflix and Facebook of "having a special relationship," claiming that Facebook allowed Netflix "customized access" to user data. The two Silicon Valley companies also agreed to "customized partnerships and integrations" since at least 2011, which helped enhance Facebook's ad targeting and ranking models. (Daily Mail)
