Jupiter co-founder meow published an article on the X platform summarizing Jupiter's recent technical problems and announcing the upcoming upgrades:
"Over the past few months, we have been working hard behind the scenes to carry out a series of infrastructure, process and user experience upgrades to expand and strengthen the many systems that run Jupiter.
-Recent problems:
In the past month, several key issues have surfaced that we need to solve as soon as possible:
1. Serious lags in selecting new tokens and markets;
2. Perpetual contracts/JLPs do not work well due to oracle problems;
3. Spam causes problems with transaction submission;
4. Quote API lags due to heavy load;
5. Strict list verification process causes long waiting times.
-Root problems:
These problems stem from a series of root problems, including but not limited to:
1. Solana network congestion causes on-chain oracles to become obsolete and have difficulty creating required token accounts for our routing;
2. Someone is spamming our RPC endpoints, causing user transactions to fail;
3. The number of tokens and newly created markets has grown massively;
4. Many spam tokens with the same name;
5. The number of strict listing applications has increased significantly, requiring the team and CWG to spend several hours every day to screen.
-Upgrades are coming soon:
To address these issues, we are making a series of major updates:
1. Metropolis: Comprehensive design of our market and token system, including back-end and front-end systems.
2. Ecological token listing: Rethink the current strict listing method to help screen the right tokens by introducing data and community participation.
3. Oracle solution: Reduce reliance on on-chain oracles.
4. Submission options: Optimize back-end transaction submission and provide users with more power on the front end.
5. Better observability: Have a complete set of metrics to understand and observe our system at different levels.
We will gradually roll out the first phase of these initiatives starting with Metropolis tomorrow. ”
Yesterday, Jupiter posted on the X platform that because its RPC was attacked by a large number of spam bots, it may cause the previous day's transactions to fail, and users can try again. The team is currently stepping up to deal with this issue to ensure normal user use.
