The Singapore Police Force said in a statement on Thursday that the police received a report at 2am on April 18 that an armed robbery occurred in a residential unit in King Albert Park, Bukit Timah, where at least four men robbed 11 victims aged between 25 and 45.
The victims were robbed of various valuables, including Singapore and foreign currencies, cryptocurrencies and luxury brand watches, with a total value of approximately S$4.34 million.
As of press time, two men aged 28 and 32 were arrested in Malaysia on April 27 and 28. The two men were extradited back to Singapore on April 30. The Singapore police are working closely with Malaysia to track down the whereabouts of other suspects.
The two men will be charged under Section 395 and Section 397 of the Penal Code (armed robbery in a group), and if convicted, they may be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison and up to 24 strokes of the cane. The investigation into the case is still ongoing. (Lianhe Zaobao)
