According to official news, Sui announced that it will celebrate the anniversary of the launch of its mainnet on May 3, and published an article reviewing the growth and new innovative features over the year. With its scalable architecture and efficient consensus engine, Sui is designed to handle massive traffic. Despite peaking at more than 5,000 transactions per second in its first year, the network has not yet reached its limits. Sui had over 9 million active accounts as of December 2023 and now has over 10 million. DeFi has grown significantly, from $10 billion in TVL in early November last year to over $50 billion in February this year.
