K33 Research: Crypto users are eager to find the next hot project in the SocialFi space

K33 Research analysts say crypto users are eager to find the next hot project in the social finance (SocialFi) space, which they believe is growing despite being plagued by "perverse incentives." In a May 8 research note, K33 DeFi analyst David Zimmerman wrote that crypto users have begun to see the new SocialFi app Fantasy Top (built on Ethereum L2 Blast) as the next potential opportunity after the recent friend.tech airdrop. Fantasy Top is a SocialFi game that allows users to buy and sell virtual trading cards of X accounts associated with cryptocurrencies and use them to participate in competitions. These competitions reward users for activity on the platform with ETH, GOLD, the reward token on Blast, native "fan points", and additional trading card packs.
