According to Odaily, Web3 startup Spindl, founded by Silicon Valley veteran Antonio Garcia Martinez, has announced the launch of a blockchain-based advertising network. The company aims to connect advertisers, publishers, and so-called attribution providers that track customer sources. In this context, the 'publishers' are providers of cryptocurrency wallets, which are increasingly resembling social applications with news feeds and 'discover' tabs.
The placement of advertising content will still be conducted off-chain, but advertisers will transfer the funds for advertising campaigns into smart contracts. These funds will only be released to the publishers once the attribution provider has verified through on-chain data that the advertisement has resulted in a sale. This innovative approach to advertising could potentially revolutionize the way businesses market their products and services, providing a more transparent and efficient method of tracking advertising success.
