According to Foresight News, a paper published by Xinxin Fan, the Chief Scientist of the IoTeX research team, at the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR) has proposed a method to enhance the performance of ZK-SNARK systems by 20% to 40%. This method can be applied to all ZK-SNARK systems. The paper has been included in the ZK Newsletter and selected as a Top Pick alongside a recent article by Vitalik.
The IoTeX research team has stated that this method represents a breakthrough in the field of zero-knowledge proof. The paper's proposal to enhance the performance of ZK-SNARK systems using the MSM algorithm will first be applied in the W3bstream, an off-chain data computation module in the IoTeX ecosystem. This will provide proof support for physical devices and off-chain data, making it easier for the DePIN project to be built on-chain.
