Crypto advocacy group Stand With Crypto surpasses 1 million registered members

Stand With Crypto, a crypto advocacy group backed by Coinbase, said it had more than 1 million registered members as of Wednesday. Founded in August last year, the group's website says it has raised millions of dollars in donations, aiming to use the money to mobilize American crypto enthusiasts to support political outcomes that favor the technology, scoring U.S. politicians, hosting public events to highlight digital asset issues, and recently forming a political action committee (PAC) to reach out directly to candidates. Stand With Crypto chief strategist Nick Carr said: "One million supporters from all states and political camps are sending a clear message to Washington. Cryptocurrency is a frontier issue and we have enough people to support it." Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong is also one of the group's major donors. He said: "Stand With Crypto has surpassed its goal of 1 million supporters at an unprecedented speed. With five months to go before the U.S. election, crypto voters will continue to go all out."
