According to Odaily, Uniswap founder Hayden Adams has recently shared his views on the Ethereum L2 chain. He stated that the L2 chain, which is focused on Ethereum scalability, should not concentrate on immutability, or the ability to maintain an unchangeable transaction ledger, until the Ethereum blockchain is ready. Adams expressed, 'Ethereum L2 should not be immutable. It's been 10 years, and L1 is still not prepared for immutability.' He added that expecting the L2 network to 'never upgrade or enforce large-scale migration again' is 'meaningless.'
Adams explained that if some migrate and some do not, the nature of users and applications interacting on the L2 chain would disrupt composability. The Ethereum Foundation has previously stated that the L2 chain is part of its scalability plan. In response to this, Jonathan Colón, who is responsible for the Rarible ecosystem in the NFT market, labeled the L2 network as a 'money grab.'
Adams responded by saying, 'The entire plan to expand Ethereum is 'L2', we either make them work or change the roadmap (I lean towards the former). Calling them a money grab or saying they need to be immutable does not change this. Their construction costs are high, and L1 has not provided funding for this work.'
