Canto posted on X that due to unforeseen secondary effects caused by the proposer priority issue, the validator paused the network after upgrading to the V8 version.
Bharvest is building and testing a state-compatible v8.1.0 upgrade that will automatically handle the issue of setting the proposer priority correctly, at which time (estimated to take 15 hours) validators will be able to continue generating blocks on the upgraded and patched V8 Canto.
All funds are safe. Once the chain is restored, users will be able to access all activities as usual.
Yesterday, Canto posted on X that the Canto chain is currently experiencing consensus issues and is therefore suspended. To resolve this issue, Canto plans to upgrade the system at 20:00 on August 12.
