Igneus Terrenus, head of public relations at Mantle, responded to the "limited sale period for the exchange of platform coins between ByBit and FTX is coming" on X, saying: "Bybit has never had a CEX token. BIT is the governance token of BitDAO. The BIT held by Alameda is restricted from migrating to MNT, and the two parties are currently taking legal action on this matter."
Earlier today, on-chain analyst Yu Jin wrote on X that ByBit and FTX exchanged platform coins in early November 2021: ByBit exchanged 100 million BIT for 3.36 million FTT from FTX, and both parties promised not to sell within 3 years.
Now there are still 2 months to go before the 3-year period, and it is likely to be sold after the limited sale ends.
At that time, it was an equal exchange, but now the value gap is very different: 100 million BIT is worth 57.73 million US dollars; 3.36 million FTT is worth only 4.47 million US dollars. Note: BitDAO (BIT) has been upgraded to Mantle (MNT).
