One cryptocurrency analyst has expressed skepticism about optimistic predictions that tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) could be worth $30 trillion by 2030, instead arguing that 5% of that amount is a more realistic target. “If the current 2-year CAGR of 121% continues, we could see tokenized traditional assets worth around $1.3 trillion by 2030,” Real Vision chief crypto analyst Samie Coutts said in an Aug. 27 X post.
In June, Standard Chartered and Synpulse predicted that tokenized RWAs could reach $30.1 trillion by 2034. While Coutts believes Wall Street’s predictions are “overly optimistic,” even his more conservative estimates could have a significant impact on the Web3 ecosystem if things go his way. He believes that if $1.3 trillion in RWA assets come on-chain, it will “have a massive flywheel effect” on other parts of the crypto ecosystem, such as NFTs, social platforms, and games. If ETH expands L1, it will gain more opportunities. (Cointelegraph)
