Binance CEO Richard Teng condemned the Nigerian government's rough treatment of detained US exchange executive Tigran Gambaryan. On September 2, Gambaryan's legal team urgently filed a bail application for medical reasons, asking the judge to release him for treatment. It is reported that Gambaryan suffered from malaria, pneumonia, tonsillitis and a herniated disc in prison, and was in pain and had almost no mobility. However, the Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) opposed the bail request, insisting that Gambaryan's physical condition was not to the point where he needed bail treatment. However, the judge ultimately ruled that Gambaryan would be allowed to use a wheelchair if necessary, and announced that the case would continue on September 4. (Cryptoslate)
