US CFTC and SEC cooperate to combat cryptocurrency investment scams

According to the official announcement, the U.S. CFTC Office of Customer Outreach and Education (OCEO) announced two partnerships to provide customers with targeted information about cryptocurrency relationship investment scams. Partnerships with multiple organizations are the cornerstone of OCEO's outreach efforts, aimed at expanding its audience. The American Bankers Association Foundation, a "private regulator" and other federal agencies are working with OCEO to create and publish an infographic to help audiences identify and avoid "pig killing" schemes. In addition, OCEO will work with the U.S. SEC and other organizations to develop investor warnings about "pig killing and leek cutting" scams. Melanie Devoe, director of OCEO, said that these partnerships are aimed at spreading educational information and preventing scams from harming the public.
