The Seoul Central Police Department in South Korea is hunting down a criminal gang that used virtual asset transactions as an excuse to carry out robberies. Today, it announced that it has arrested four people, including two main culprits, for special extortion, and is tracking down the remaining three.
The gang was accused of threatening the victim with a blunt instrument in an apartment office in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 23rd, and forcibly snatching about 180 million won in cash. The victim intended to conduct a face-to-face virtual asset transaction in his office at the time of the crime, but refused to hand over the cash without receiving the cryptocurrency. (KBS)
