A new poll by polling firm Harris Poll, funded by Grayscale, shows that more and more voters say they take a candidate’s knowledge and stance on cryptocurrency seriously when considering who to vote for. Of the more than 1,800 likely voters, 77% said presidential candidates should understand innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency. 56% said they are more likely to vote for a candidate who pays close attention to cryptocurrency issues. Respondents’ view is that Republicans (Trump’s side) have a slight advantage over Democrats in supporting cryptocurrency investors, but that advantage is growing. In addition, the poll shows that more and more voters (slowly rising to 21%, or about one in five) hold some kind of cryptocurrency (usually Bitcoin) as an investment. In three voter sentiment snapshot surveys, those who bought cryptocurrencies increasingly said they did so because a financial advisor recommended it—27% in the latest poll, up 7 percentage points from the previous poll earlier this year.
