zcashd 6.0.0 has been released, which will deploy NU6 and introduce a new development fund at the next Zcash halving

According to official news, ECC announced that zcashd 6.0.0 has been released, and network upgrade 6 (NU6) will be deployed at the next Zcash halving, with an activation height of 2726400, which is expected to occur around November 23, 2024. At that time, NU6 will deploy a new Zcash development fund (Hybrid Deferred Dev Fund transitions to a non-direct financing model) and establish a lockbox, a portion of which will be designated for future decentralized grants funds. The issuance of these funds will be managed by a mechanism determined by the future community to ensure that funds are issued under agreed limits to maintain availability in the coming years. As part of the 6.0.0 upgrade, the team is deploying or has updated the following ZIPs: ZIP 207: Funding flows (updated); ZIP 214: Consensus rules for the Zcash development fund (updated); ZIP 236: Blocks should be fully balanced; ZIP 253: NU6 network upgrade deployment; ZIP 1015: Block reward allocation for non-direct development funds; ZIP 2001: Lockbox funding flows.
