According to BlockBeats, on October 8, Storj announced the acquisition of PetaGene, the creator of cunoFS, to bolster the growth momentum driven by its recent acquisition of distributed GPU provider Valdi. Storj now offers distributed cloud object storage, on-demand GPU computing, and distributed file storage installations. These capabilities collectively provide seamless access to distributed cloud services for video and AI workloads, enhancing performance, security, cost efficiency, and carbon savings for more edge and global customers.
PetaGene developed cunoFS, a high-performance mounting client poised to revolutionize cloud workflows for data-intensive media and entertainment industries, as well as users of all cloud platforms and object storage providers. In addition to the Linux client, cunoFS introduced a native Windows client at IBC 2024, with a macOS native client expected to launch later this year.
