The monthly agenda template for the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), a British nonprofit, lists "Kill Musk's Twitter" as a primary goal, according to internal documents reviewed by The DisInformation Chronicle. The phrase first appeared in its planning documents in early 2024.
The documents show that CCDH listed plans to "provoke regulatory action" against X, formerly Twitter. The organization focused on X because its activities under its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status were questioned.
The records show that CCDH held meetings with multiple groups, including representatives from the Biden White House, Congressman Adam Schiff's office, the State Department and Media Matters for America.
In 2023, X filed a lawsuit against CCDH. A federal judge dismissed the case, saying it appeared to be an attempt to punish CCDH for its critical coverage of the platform.
