According to Odaily, Base has announced that it will activate 'fraud proofs' on its mainnet on October 30. This development marks a significant step towards further decentralization of the network. The activation of fraud proofs will allow anyone to monitor and challenge invalid withdrawals without the need for trusted third parties, thereby reducing reliance on them. The Base team has been working closely with Optimism to integrate this feature into the Base network and ensure the secure execution of the upgrade. Once the upgrade is implemented, pending withdrawals will require re-verification.
